Hi,
** This release has been superseded by version 1.1.5 which is now in Cydia **
After a bit of a spring clean the 1.1.2 release contains the following new features:
Support for iPad
TVOut2 now turns itself on and off automatically as you plug/unplug the video cable.
Hot of the press:
This new version gives you the option to redirect game output (applications written in OpenGL) to the TV screen only at full framerate! This is only enabled during "video" mode in case the game you want to play does not work. The new "split" mode writes alternate frames when gaming to the TV and iPhone/Pod/Pad halving the framerate but is still faster than mirroring. With Split mode off the iPhone/Pad/Pod screen updates once a second.
Please report any games you find that don't work in this new mode here:
http://iphonetvoutlandscape.forumcircle.com/viewtopic.php?t=152
** I've renamed "normal" mode, "mirror" mode in the TVOutTuner app as mirror mode is really a fallback for when the default "video" mode doesn't work. **
A fix for the problem of some movies playing sideways in "mirror" (a.k.a "normal") mode.
Removed the confusing application badge made obsolete by the SBSettings Toggle and introduced feedback of the current state of TVOut into the TVOutTuner application. You can now also save 4 layout presets in landscape mode. The layout buttons now auto repeat after holding them down for a second.
If you want to donate to keep things moving forward you can use this link:
Enjoy, This version is looking in pretty good shape and may mark the completion of project TVOut2. See the previous notes for more information about video mode, problems with the camera application, compatibility etc.

Hi, just tried out the release. It never seems to toggle into the Video mode. The toggle remains green on mirror, and it lags on the TV screen while displaying normal framerate on the device. Same goes for Split mode, the "mirror" button always stays green, and no change in framerate on the TV, while still 100% the same on the phone.
Running on 3G.
Tested :
Sword & Poker 2, Angry Birds, iPhone UI (lagged on TV Screen, fine on Phone) |

Wierd, anybody else got this problem?? Note there is a half second delay between pushing the buttons and the "red/green" indication being updated. I can't imagine why Video mode would not turn on. |

I have cydia (Blackra1n),but have not used tvout2 mirror tvout yet.I have an Iphone 3g,v. 3.1.2.I also have Slingplayer installed on my Iphone which gives me a crystal clear picture (3g or wifi). If I use the 1.1.2 version of tvout2,tvout,will the Slingplayer app on my Iphone work with this and do I need an "Apple" av cable to make it work? Or,will a less expensive Iphone av cable do the trick? One more thing-do I need to do anything special before I install the tvout2,tvout? Thank you very much in advance! I'm sorry--at the risk of sounding stupid, does this work 3g as well as wifi? Thanks again in advance! |

Hi, SlingPlayer works well with the new release on any cable. If you want to watch video you'll have less trouble with a proper Apple cable. 3g/WiFi makes no difference to TVOut2 it will just install and run.

Thanks for the quick response and info,Guido! I will install your TVOUT2MIRROR,TVOUT app when my iPhone av cable comes in. I will post a message to let you know how well your app works with the Slingplayer.Once again, thank you for the advice and info! |

Hi,
I've been doing a bit of testing and if you have a non-Apple cable you could try "Resuppported" ($1.99) from Cydia and videos may work as they do for your Apple cable brethren.

Guid,
I'm having issues with TVOut2, with an iPhone 3GS, blackra1n, 3.1.2, official Apple composite av cable, windows 7.
I've managed to get TVOut2 to work with apps and games. Great. However, in doing so, my videos through iPod and Air Video are not working properly. I get audio via the device just fine, but no video and it is oriented in portrait mode. I get all of the QT controls but no video.
Once I reboot my iPhone video comes back to normal, but as soon as I try to use TVOut2 and plug in the cable the video craps out again.
I've rebooted a few times now and didn't manage to get video back until I uninstalled TVOut2.
It's sounding like a substrate conflict. Any suggestions? I have SBS Settings, but have uninstalled Out2 to get video back at the moment.
Thanks. |

Hi,
This doesn't happen for me but I can offer the following ideas: If TVOut2 is turned off it should not affect any other application and video should also not be affected if you select "mirror" mode. Try using the "auto" button to stop it turning itself on and reboot. You should then be fine when you reconnect the cable. Let me know if this does/doesn't fix it. Make sure you don't have "resuppported" installed if you have an Apple cable.

helloooo i use the same cord for the tv plugin as i do for charging purposes so the auto enable tv out toggle is pretty inconvenient. any way to turn that off?? |

hi, the new version 1.1.5 allows you to turn auto-connect off.
